Learning for All
LPK Learning CIC runs a range of activities from workshops and courses to less formal groups where people can share experiences and learn from each other.

As well as community sessions, we are also working with a number of local partners to deliver bespoke courses and workshops to different groups.

Family Learning

Family learning activities provide opportunities for parents, carers and grandparents to:

  • Find out how your child learns
  • Explore fun ways you can learn together
  • Be more confident helping your child

See Facebook or Twitter for details of current activities

Do you sigh when you see your child's homework?   If so, our courses can help you to develop strategies to support your child's learning.

We are great believers in stealth learning (teaching our children without them realising!) and our family learning sessions are very much based on this idea

Maths for Parents

Maths is everywhere!

LPK particularly specialises in delivering maths sessions for parents and we do this through our BearNumbers programme.

As well as running workshops and courses, we also have a Facebook group where everyday maths ideas can be shared.

Our online community is growing and everyone is welcome!

If you would like us to deliver a course near you, please contact us and we will do our best.  We are always planning new courses and like to make sure that we meet the needs of the community.

Alternatively, if you have some friends who are interested and you would like to host a group, we can come to you!  Please contact us to find out more.

“Sessions are really practical and it was great fun learning the games which my child also loved!”

"So brilliant for helping me to support my children as they learn at school.”

"I felt really nervous at first but soon felt relaxed and really enjoyed the experience."

“Once you know a bit more about what they're doing, you can help them more and it gives you more confidence.  More confidence in everything though, not just maths.”

Typical Course Structure:

  • Weekly sessions of 1-2 hours.
  • 3 weeks per module.
  • Content will be tailored to meet the needs of each group.
  • Places are limited so that everyone gets the most out of each course.
  • Courses run subject to tutor availability and sufficient group numbers
